Despite the rain, spirits weren't dampened at Friday night's graduation of the Lampeter-Strasburg Class of 2009.  Every seat in the performing arts center was filled with proud family and friends. Those without tickets for the ceremony watched a live simulcast in several nearby classrooms, as the largest class in the school's history, 277 graduates, walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.

Sarah Jamieson, was named valedictorian and class vice-president, Jordan Landis won the honor of salutatorian.  Principal, Carroll Staub spoke about the many accomplishments of the Class of 2009, recognizing those students who excelled during their senior year both in and out of the classroom.  Nearly 81 percent of the class is continuing their education and as a group they won nearly $3 million in scholarship money to help pay for it.  He encouraged them to, "Smile often, help others, and always be true to yourself."
